Hello All This is a new page we have added to keep you informed of what we are doing and what we have planned in the far and near future. My plans are to attempt to answer our most often asked questions as they come up. If you have questions please email them to me at president@abesoccer.com. I also want to encourage all of you to come to the ABE Board meetings held at the Keystone Creamery from 7PM to 9ish on the first Sunday of each month.

May 18,2008 Pictures will be at the fields the next set of games we have. This should be the games on May 31st. Please let coaches know that they should come to the back of the concession stand to get them that day. Pictures will be given to coaches or team representatives only. Pictures will NOT be given out on an individual basis. We can't go through them all one by one and hand them out to each parent. We will give the entire teams pics to coach or rep for that team and they will disperse them to the individuals.
There was talk of a make up day for pictures, that will not happen. If a team would like they can contact Photography by James, or whom ever they want, and have their pictures taken. Any one that requested and paid for a team picture on a team that did not have a "team picture" taken will be refunded for the Team Picture from Photography by James directly. ABE does not have anything to do with the transaction.
Thanks Deric Neal ABE President and the rest of the ABE Board and volunteers

May 8, 2008 Please help out your selves and you kids. We are pushing our limits very hard to two of our most important supporters. The Economy United Methodist Church and the New Hope Church have been very kind to let us use their property for soccer. Neither Church requires any money from us what so ever. We do donate a very small amount to them each year but, not enough to cover their hassles or inconveniences. They both only ask few a few things from us. Park and act with respect. The Economy UMC asks that we don't park any closer to the fields than their little red shed and stay out of their front lawn. They also ask that we not park in the yard of their Parsonage (this is the little white house between the U6 and the U10 fields) nor walk through the yard or walk our dogs in the yard. If you see someone parking or acting with out respect to the Church please help us and your child by asking them not to park there or not to do what they are doing. Also please do not let the kids play soccer around the Church. We broke three windows in the Church just in the Fall 07 season alone by kicking ball into them. The New Hope Church asks that we not park up against the church. They schedule an array of events for Saturdays as well. All they ask is that we park in the lower end of their lot so their parishioners may park up near the Church. A small request as it is, we seam to have a hard time with it. They have asked several times and have signs up requesting such parking armaments and yet we have failed to yield. We all are going to have to park behind the Jr High if we don't start to comply. Please also pick up your trash as you leave. All of the fields have been covered in trash at the end of the day. Water bottles, orange peels and so on are being left behind. Please clean up after your self and those who didn't care enough to take their own trash. As I have mentioned before neither church charges us for the fields nor do we donate enough to them for their time and aggravation. So please thank them if you see them. Let them know that you appreciate them letting us use their property and resources. Both Churches get a lot of grief from us and very very few thank you's, if any. A little respect and a thank you can go a long ways. Thanks for reading the entire thing. I am guessing if you read it all you are not causing the problem, so thank you. But you can help us police the area so we can continue to have fields to play on.
Thank You Deric Neal ABE President, and the rest of the ABE Board and volunteers

I would like to take a moment and thank all of those that have chose to help out the kids by coaching. It is great to see these wonderful folks stepping up to help out. We could not have a soccer organization with out them. Remember it takes a parent to help out their own kid, but it takes a real hero to help out an entire soccer team. Remember to thank your coach for their time this season. You may not always agree with them, but you should always appreciate them and their time spent, helping your kid.
The Spring Season is just around the corner. Dave Ames has the teams pretty much set up now for In-House. Scott Neville has almost completed the Travel schedules for the older kids. You should hear from your coaches by March 22nd. We are going to try to start the season for In-House on March 29th as of now. Travel start dates vary depending on the Age Group Commissioner for that division and field conditions. If you have not heard from your coach by the 22nd please email the appropriate Director. Dave Ames for Saturday playing In-house or Scott Neville for Sunday playing Travel. Both of their contact information is on the BOARD MEMBERS page of our website. Good luck this season and have fun.

2/5/08 Special Requests Special request are very difficult when trying to make the teams even and fair. More and more people are making coaching requests and saying they need to be on the same team for ride purposes. We have in the past tried to meet all of these requests. What I have found over the last four or five seasons is that people were abusing this. Several people were putting this on their registration forms so they could be on the same team as their friend. In doing so these teams are getting stacked. Please do not make a special request for a coach. The only way to make sure you know for sure who your kid's coach is going to be is by volunteering to coach your child's team. Some people have said they want their child to have the same coach as indoor, ABE has nothing to do with indoor soccer what so ever. We can not meet the requests and keep the games fair and close in goals. Please do not put for ride purposes on your form unless you really need this other person's help to get your child to soccer. We will do every thing we can to help out. All of us on the Board need to run our kids all over the world for various things as well, and under stand how much help friends and neighbors can be. The problem with this is that more and more people are requesting it. Understandably we are all getting busier, but we are noticing more and more people using this to stack a team or to prevent their child from meeting new friends. Do not be afraid of you child playing with all kids they have not played with before. This is a fantastic way for your child to build new friendships.

2/4/08 Registration and Coed teams Hello All It is that time of year again. We are off and running. First week of registration we had 106, or so, kids sign up at the Borough building. Second week was a great turn out too, although I do not have the exact numbers at this point. Don't forget to tell everyone you see registration closes Feb 15th. There is not much time left. One question that seams to be coming up is about the U10 teams. A lot of mothers seem to be concerned with it being coed. It is never our goal for any of the age groups to be coed. The reason the U10 was coed last season was due to the extreme amount of kids that signed up late. (this is the reason we will strongly enforce the $25 penalty fee per child for late registration) If all of the kids that played U10 this past season would of signed up on time we would not of played coed. The hardest part of our In-House Director's job is dealing with the late sign ups. We do our best to make all the teams even. We want all of our games to be with in two or three goals. What makes that difficult is the late sign ups, and special requests.

1/21/08 Registration: We have a few changes this season for registration. The biggest is we can not accept any registrations this season, or upcoming seasons, with out a copy of the players birth certificate. This is a result of people signing their children up for soccer using an incorrect birth date. The birth date guidelines are not set by ABE Soccer. We follow the guidelines of PAWEST. The dates do not follow the same schedule as the school system. Expect your child to play soccer with some kids they do not know. It is a great experience to make new friends. We also have to reject any registration that was mailed to the registrar with out payment, or with the incorrect payment. We like our registrar, and want to keep her around for a while. In the past we have tried to keep track of "short payers" or those who forgot to put the check in the envelope. We know mistakes happen but we will return any registration mailed in, if the funds do not match the registrations. The player(s) will not be put on a team until the registration is resubmitted with the appropriate funds.
